ANS Winter Conference

A few weeks ago, a group of over 20 UF students and faculty embarked on a voyage that was well worth the two hour drive and five hour flight. The group flew out to San Diego for the ANS Winter Conference, which took place at the Town and Country Hotel from November 11-15. The first night began with the Presidential Dinner and Technology Expo, where a range of companies, national labs, and universities showcased their prospects in the nuclear field.

NUCLEAR ENGINEERING PROGRAM

University of Florida

The Nuclear Engineering Program in the College of Engineering at the University of Florida invites applications for a tenured/tenure track position at the rank of Assistant, Associate or Full Professor.  While the search is open to any area of nuclear engineering, preference will be shown to candidates in the following areas of specialization: reactor core physics, instrumentation and control, nuclear fuels and fuel cycle, nuclear materials, and radiochemistry. Successful candidates should also demonstrate the potential to collaborate with current faculty in the Nuclear Engineering Program and Department of Materials Science and Engineering.

University of Florida

The Nuclear Engineering Program in the College of Engineering at the University of Florida is seeking a highly qualified individual to become its Director. This could be a tenured or tenure-track position at the rank of Associate or Full Professor, with a strong preference towards tenured full professor.

The Nuclear Engineering Program is undergoing a major revitalization and expansion within the Department of Materials Science and Engineering. We recently hired three new faculty members, and a search is underway for an additional faculty member. The Director will guide the strategic development of this program, lead curriculum development, lead research initiatives, expand outreach programs for government and industrial partnerships, expand program visibility, and foster alumni participation in program revitalization.
